Harrison & Hetherington has announced a new three-year mainline sponsorship agreement with Cogent Breeding for Borderway Agri Expo 2026, which takes place at Borderway Mart, Carlisle, on Friday 30th October.
As the UK’s largest autumn livestock event Agri Expo attracts and showcases some of the finest commercial and pedigree livestock from across the length and breadth of the country. It combines outstanding cattle and sheep competitions with a major industry trade show, seminars and industry awards.
Agri Expo also provides an opportunity to see the results of breeding decisions first-hand, assess livestock and exchange practical knowledge. Its importance extends beyond the show ring. With livestock businesses facing considerable pressures, the event brings producers and industry specialists together to discuss and debate the challenges and opportunities ahead. It also recognises the achievements of those who have made an outstanding contribution to farming and gives young people opportunities to compete and learn.
Laura Millar, Event Organiser, said: “We are delighted to welcome Cogent as a mainline sponsor. Agri Expo means a great deal to the farmers and breeders who put so much work into preparing their livestock, and to the many businesses that support them.
“Cogent’s commitment helps us plan ahead and continue developing the event. We want Agri Expo to offer something valuable to everyone attending, whether they are an established breeder, a commercial farmer or a young person taking their first steps in the industry.”
Rachael Dale, Beef Product Specialist from Cogent said: “Cogent is proud to be the mainline sponsor of Borderway Agri Expo because it represents so much of what our business stands for. As one of the livestock industry’s flagship events, Agri Expo provides an important platform to showcase the quality, innovation and progress being made across the beef sector. We recognise the value these events bring in connecting farmers, breeders and industry professionals, and believe it is vital that businesses like Cogent continue to support them to ensure they remain a strong part of the agricultural calendar.
“Our sponsorship also reflects the importance of beef within the Cogent portfolio and our partnership with Dovea Genetics allows us to ensure the suckler beef sector remains a key part of our business. We believe this is fundamental to the future success of the wider UK beef industry. By investing in events such as Borderway Agri Expo, we are demonstrating our long-term commitment to beef producers, supporting the next generation of genetics and helping to drive confidence and progress within the sector.”
This year’s programme will see hundreds of cattle and sheep judged across the commercial classes and seven national pedigree calf shows. The British Limousin and British Charolais National Calf Shows join for 2026, while a new auctioneering competition will give aspiring auctioneers the chance to demonstrate their skills.
The event’s other mainline sponsors include Carrs Billington and Lloyds Bank. For more information and the latest event updates, visit: www.borderwayagriexpo.uk or follow Borderway Agri Expo on Facebook and Instagram.
