Adam Henson unveils packed itinerary for Borderway Agri Expo

Farmer and TV presenter to spend day at livestock industry showcase event

Borderway Agri Expo today announce that TV personality and farmer Adam Henson, will be attending this year’s event as a farming ambassador.   Being held at Borderway, Carlisle, this premier Autumn livestock showcase for the beef and sheep industry includes the best in commercial cattle and sheep, breed society calf shows, seminars to update farmers on the latest developments in the industry – plus one of the UK’s most famous farmers.

Adam will be attending as a Lloyds Bank Agricultural Ambassador and visitors at the event will be able to meet him at the Lloyds Bank stand. He will also be meeting competitors, judging and presenting prizes at a range of competitions being held throughout the day.

Although best known for his appearances on TV in a variety of farming-related shows, Adam is also a working farmer and passionate conservationist, who manages a 650-hectare arable and livestock enterprise in the Cotswolds with business partner Duncan Andrews. This farm includes the Cotswold Farm Park visitor attraction, first opened by Adam’s father in 1971, with the aim to protect some rare breeds of farm animals.

Borderway Agri Expo is a real celebration of British Livestock and British Farming and we are excited that Adam is to attend the event and participate in some elements of the programme.”

Adam’s visit will start with a reception and breakfast, hosted by Lloyds Bank, followed by a walkabout through Pedigree and Sheep exhibitor areas, also Breed Society trade stands. He will also be getting involved with the series of seminars, being held in collaboration with H&H Land & Estates, which focus on farming for the future.

Later in the afternoon, Adam will continue with his walkabout through the Commercial Trade Stands and Commercial Cattle exhibitors and will have a chance to meet with members of the public at the Lloyds Bank stand before heading into the Commercial Cattle judging ring for some of the Championship award presentations around 3.30pm to 4pm.

The 2021 Borderway Agri Expo is one of first major competitive livestock events being held this year. However, it is also a very important business event for the farming industry, and in addition to the show classes and competitions, it will be highlighting new equipment and the changing demands of the sector. Three seminars will look in depth at the future of farming, by having a discussion with young farmers and looking into the future of rural support schemes, and UK livestock trading.

Plus, visitors will be able to enjoy a packed trade stand area, see around 120 different  companies including breed societies, machinery and the latest in technology, the next generation of our Young Farmers will be able to participate in the David Allen Stockperson of the Year Award and there will be a series of demonstrations including farm focussed first aid.
