Sheep Game’s Cammy Wilson looking for Farming’s Next Top Vlogger!

Borderway Agri Expo’s Top Vlogger competition returns for a second year, with YouTube Farmer, Cammy Wilson judging the entries from young farmers.

Combining its passion of encouraging the next generation, and showcasing the strength of the agricultural industry to the public, Harrison & Hetherington is running a vlogging competition in the run up to Borderway Agri Expo on Friday 27th October. The competition is open to young farmers up to the age of 16 years and will this year be judged by The Sheep Game’s Cammy Wilson.

Sponsored by Herd’s Media, the aim of this competition is to encourage young people to film ‘A Day in the Life’ on their own farms and put together a short vlog, a maximum of five minutes, showcasing their own enterprises. The winner will have the opportunity to spend some time with Cammy himself at Agri Expo, to hear his best tips and tricks to making it is a YouTuber, as well as receiving a £50 voucher to put towards their YouTubing kit going forwards.

Commenting on the return of this competition, Borderway Agri Expo’s Event Organiser, Laura Millar, said: “We think this is a great competition to involve the next generation. As a company, Harrison & Hetherington continue to support and encourage the people that will be the future of the industry.

“Social media is a big part of everyday life now and it’s a fantastic platform for us all to promote our farms and our industry to showcase the tremendous work that we do. It’s also a great way to educate the public on how their food is produced.”

Last year’s entries were judged by YouTube sensation, Will Roobottom, of Cowley Hill Farm, and he picked Honor Graham, who shared with us a day in her life from Midtown Farm, Dumfries & Galloway, which included introducing us to her very noisy Bantam cockerel Theodore!

Cammy Wilson is first and foremost a Sheep Farmer, but now with 338,000 subscribers on YouTube, Cammy has grown a loyal band of viewers who tune in weekly to follow his farming endeavours. Cammy farms in Ayrshire, Scotland along with his partner Lizzy and their two young boys Jock and Angus. On being asked to judge, Cammy commented, “I am absolutely thrilled to be a part of the 2023 Borderway Agri Expo Young Vlogger Competition as a judge. The passion and creativity of young vloggers in the agricultural community never cease to amaze me, and I can't wait to see the incredible content they'll produce for this year's competition. It's a fantastic opportunity to showcase the talent and innovation within our industry, and I'm excited to be a part of it.”

The competition is open to anyone sixteen years and under who is involved in the farming industry in any way. Parental consent is required, and entry forms and instructions can be found here – https://bit.ly/YoungVloggerConsentForm or downloaded from our Facebook page.
